Mysterious eFORCE Suite 2: What Can You Expect?

Posted by Brandon Taylor on June 17, 2015

What's new with version 2At eFORCE we have been extremely busy in the Research and Development process over the last year and we are excited to begin releasing the new Suite 2. With a new generation of our Suite, there are many questions and concerns as to what can be expected. What are you gaining from version 2? Why did this take so long to release? When do you get the new version?

We hope to address some of these questions and concerns, and leave you excited and ready for the new version.

What are you gaining from the new version 2?

The main change in version 2 is the look of the software or User Interface (UI). eFORCE has never been one to slack on keeping the look sleek and modern and we have delivered once again within all applications of our suite. You will find an updated UI that is simple, easy, and does not strain the eyes. There have actually been changes that now allow the customer to customize much of what they see each day.

eFORCE customers will see many redesigns and restyles of many different fields, setups, and functions. We have spent a great deal of time looking through our applications and pages and trying to sync them so they have similar format and structure. Certain functionalities have been shifted and repositioned so the workflow is smoother and makes a better transition. All of this has been done to make your work easier and more efficient.
To give you a little taste of what we have done, we’ll highlight some key features within each application.

eFORCE Command: 1. Added the ability to change (all users, all modules except the CAD) the field background colors, required field colors, text to lighter or darker font and border colors around the standard and required fields. 2. Added DNA Combine/Separate tool.

CAD: 1. Added Open Call Control Setup option for dispatchers. This feature allows the dispatchers to control the calls as they come in and places them in chronological order, which reduces bouncing. The dispatcher can choose ascending or descending order.

Civil: 1. Added ability to print multiple worksheets from one process. 2. Enhanced the Report Viewer to email a PDF of the printout to multiple individuals.

Court: 1. New User Interface for Court. 2. Added ability to email Reports to multiple recipients.

Jail: 1. Added functionality on Dashboard for viewing Recently Booked Inmates. A user can choose one of two views: Default Name view or New Photo view. 2. New User Interface for all of Jail.

RMS: 1. New User Interface for all of RMS. 2. Added ability to create custom report views on personal or division dashboards of Events. 3. Added Dashboard Alerts to display: Briefings, Case Follow up Due Dates, Training Certifications, Expiring Certifications, Expiring Protective Orders, and Expungements.

This list could go on and on, so please take a look at our Suite 2 Release Notes on our docs website for all the details within each application. If you have any questions or concerns about the new version, please feel free to give us a call and discuss.

Why did this version take so long to release?

With over 180+ features added to the new version, and significant customizations, eFORCE has gone above and beyond our normal build protocols. We are continuously striving to provide our customers with the latest and greatest in cutting edge technology and with this version we have extended our schedule to do so. We have had several paid customization contracts as part of this new version. With each customization, a significant level of detail, testing, bug fixes, and development effort is applied. The time to deliver many different customizations to our product within the same version, and provide such wonderful enhancements, has led to an extended release schedule.

When do you get the new version?

We think this is the most anticipated question we have been asked, and with good cause. The new suite version 2 is exciting!

We have already released the new version to a handful of customers for beta testing. We have begun to release the new version to those customers that have paid customizations in the version and/or support tickets that are fixed within suite 2. Currently we are already scheduled through August with these customers.

We understand everyone wants the new version, and we anticipate with 200+ customers we will be extremely busy providing updates over the next 8 months. As we manage the update process, we will be in contact with the agency administrator(s) to schedule a date and time for the update. Once we get to the point of updating your agency, our Training Manager will also be alerted to contact your agency so he can schedule a new version 2 webinar to train the new features.

Each agency has unique hardware requirements and different eFORCE versions they’re currently using. These circumstances, along with others, must be taken into account with our schedule of upgrades. If there are any concerns on our end about your hardware, we will be in touch with you to express and address those concerns. Please be patient with us over the next few months as we work to satisfy all. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch with us.
